Our 53945, 5 Gallon Black Open Head Steel Pail has Gold phenolic linings, also known as clear phenolic, have a high degree of acid and solvent resistance, so aren’t recommended for alkaline products. They hold products with a pH range of 3.0–7.0. A properly cured lining will exhibit good adhesion but is less flexible than the red and green phenolic linings. Typical products used with gold phenolic linings include acid compounds, agricultural chemicals, insecticides, corrosive chemicals, solvents and solvent containing materials, nitrocellulose lacquers and inks, food products, essential oils and petroleum products.
